Jesus sports a 666

I remember on the old boards that we had a topic of a guy that claimed to be Jesus. He had a church and a big movement... I remember because Lyte and I talked about the \'SSS\' symbols that were on his pulpit and on the wall of his video... and Lyte said that it was equivlent to the number 6 (and one other number... can\'t remember what is was...)

Well... looks like the same guy is back in the news again, but this time... it would appear that the \"SSS\" DOES stand for 666 after all.

Re:Jesus sports a 666
now i\'m just gonna wait to see if some radical hater shoots him in the head or something and gives him a \"mortal wound\" but that he\'ll live through it. then we\'ll really start seeing some craziness.

Re:Jesus sports a 666
ROTFL!!!!!!! Good one, Lyte!

For those who may not know to what he\'s referring:

The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was filled with wonder and followed the beast. People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, \"Who is like the beast? Who can make war against it?\" (Revelation 13:1-4, TNIV)

Re:Jesus sports a 666
Wait...he apparently claimed to be the Antichrist and Jesus...this makes no sense...as well the Antichrist would be unknown and not proclaimed to all until it was time, correct?

Re:Jesus sports a 666
From my reading of Revelation, that\'s correct. Admittedly, I approach the book from a Reformed Amilennial viewpoint rather than a Dispensational Premillennial one. (That\'s why I use Protestant Reformer, John Calvin, as my avatar here, in case you were wondering who that distinguished-looking gentleman is to the left of my posts [Oh boy, I\'ve just publicly revealed my theological stance! Please don\'t hate me for it!] :) Either way, I think the two schools of thought would agree on that point. However, even Dispensational Premillennialists can\'t affirm conclusively from Scripture that the Antichrist will arise after the rapture. Even when I was a Dispensational Premillennialist (which constitutes the first 11 years of my Christian walk), I quickly found the notion that the antichrist would not arise before the Great Tribulation to be somewhat arbitrary. It\'s an argument from silence with no Scriptural backing. I think he\'ll be around prior to that, but we obviously won\'t be deceived by him. Jesus said, \"For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. \" (Matthew 24:24 // Mark 13:22, TNIV). God won\'t allow those who truly belong to him to fall prey to Spiritual deception. Now that\'s something to praise God for!

Yeah, this guy doesn\'t believe in the Antichrist as being any different than Christ, so that he can be both. He\'s got some really odd views, and his \"church\" follows right along and gets \"666\" tattoos to make his point.

Peace,

Jeff

Re:Jesus sports a 666
yikes, well at least they don\'t even bother trying to cover up who they truly serve. Just another sign of the (end) times.
