In a nutshell, Flaming Fish Music is a vehicle used to support and promote the Christian electronic underground music scene. What does that mean, exactly? Here's how it breaks down:
What we do:
Though we're known best as an indie record label and store, we'll do just about anything to help push this scene forward. Briefly, here's where we're up to right now:
| > |
online store: this site's store section strives to offer the best selection of the scene's products in one place |
| > |
record label: if we see a band that is not getting the label support that they deserve, we'll try to step in and get their CD out there |
| > |
Automata magazine: we publish a quarterly, pro-quality print magazine called Automata. Check the 'zine section for more info |
| > |
Flish Radio: our 24-hour radio show plays the latest and greatest in the scene |
| > |
web resource: the links page lists hundred of band pages while the forums keep fans connected |
Who we do it for:
How do we define "Christian electronic underground"? Well, the "Christian" part is pretty basic. We believe in God as our creator and in His son, Jesus Christ, who died for us so that we could be saved. (If this all sounds crazy to you,

and we'll try to make it make sense.) As far as the scene goes, all the bands we support through Flaming Fish also believe in these basics.
As for the "electronic underground" bit, for us it means the musical genres of industrial, goth, synthpop, ambient, experimental, electronica and all the picky little subgenres thereof. We try to keep an open mind without losing focus on who we're here for.
How we do it:
Since 1994, Flaming Fish has established what we like to think is an excellent reputation for fair dealings to bands and good service to customers. We believe in treating people honestly and fairly, just as we would want to be treated.
For our customers, that means fair pricing, timely service, and always doing our best to make sure that when you deal with us, you walk away completely satisfied. And if you do ever have a problem, you can

directly and he'll take care of it.
For the bands we work with, it means placing their interests ahead of our own. For example, we shun traditional record industry practices in favour of terms and payments that are more favourable to the bands. After all, it's the bands that we're here for in the first place.
We feel confident enough in saying all this to encourage you to seek out anyone we've dealt with in the past to check their opinions.
