ITFA (Impossible To Find Album)

The goal of ITFA is to make available select musicals gems that have been buried by the sands of time and might never be heard again. If it is available for purchase or download anywhere on-line (so far as I have been able to ascertain), it doesn't appear here. All offerings are flawlessly ripped from my own personal collection via EAC and coded into lossless format.

Offering 1
Fatal Blast Whip – The Floors of Fire

My favorite here is House of the Rise and Fall. Other notables include Cyst, Encounters, Curse, and the title piece (pops at the end of some songs are part of original). Slightly different song arrangement and very different cover as seen here: http://ballistictest.flamingfish.com/btz_old_reviews/fbw-fof.html

This is an ITFA. Not available anywhere else. Get it before it is gone.
[next ITFA: Blank Frame]

UPDATE

I forgot to include the cover and booklet art. Get it here:

Offering 2
Blank Frame – Diegnostic

Very uneven quality throughout, but not to be missed for tracks like All My Bridges, Hierarchy of Chaos, If I Could, Killer Glitch, and Aliens (my personal fav). Review here: http://ballistictest.flamingfish.com/btz_old_reviews/blframe-kod.html

Offering 3
Thymikon - Nispsis

Dark, electronic, ambient, atmospheric with chants, celestial symphonies, muted dance beats, and Greek Orthodox lyrics and imagery, laden with samples and spoken word that ushers you into a mystical domain of the holy (or unholy). More of something you experience than something you listen to. Fans of Mortal will recognize a sampled beat from the hidden seventh track of Fathom in the song Midnight Improvisation. Recommended for those who enjoy Caul or Hollydrift. Review here: http://ballistictest.flamingfish.com/btz_old_reviews/t-n.html.

“Night will shine like the day and in the darkness He calls your name.”

As an added bonus, I included Thymikon's only other released song, The Mystic Mother, from the Awaiting The Dawn compilation.

"In Her the Way had found the lowest place in the entire earth—
The nadir of the Valley,
The supreme humility, lowliness—
And there He came and made His abode.
He took flesh of Her whom He loved above all others who dwelled on the earth,
Who was meek and humble like Himself.
And lowering Himself, emptying Himself, in His love, to the lowest place,
He became a tiny child within Her, the Mystic Mother..."
-Hieromonk Damascene, Christ the Eternal Tao

Offering 4
Various – Ballistic Test Six (Part 1 and Part 2)

Well, one form of it at least. This was a release where each person could pick the songs they wanted. Some are available nowhere else, but others are taken directly from released albums. My favorite selections are Evonica's Scissor Sworn, Octavion's Rendered, Culture Whore's So Beautiful, and Skindot's Intertwining Cities. Review here: http://ballistictest.flamingfish.com/btz_old_reviews/va-bt6.html

These are split into two RAR files. You will need both to open either. Paradoxx's Submission is different from the album version and the Domin8 mix. I subtitled it Come To Me.

This is an ITFA. Not available anywhere else.

Skindot – Test Tube Tragedy

A few songs from this album appeared in compilations through Flaming Fish back in the day and one or two appear on other Skindot releases as well. The sound quality is not as high as we might expect from a Voxis or Celldweller, but it is still very well done. My faves Tongue To Glass, Open Book, and Distrought. Review here: http://ballistictest.flamingfish.com/btz_old_reviews/sd-ttt.html

Some listeners here may find the song Fetish exceptionable so I am throwing a caution out there (I perceive the song to be a lament about one's struggle with a fallen condition and the feeling of slavery to it, which even Paul expresses in his letters).

Included below are songs that were released for free back in the day either on Skindot's old MP3.com page or on the long defunct web space.

Hardware and Transparent

Rageflower – Rageflower EP

It took me ten years to find this one. I picked up the last available copy from Soundmass.com. The tracks are generally quite different from those on the Falling on Deaf Ears Australian Metal Compilation. The sound there is a lot more mature, but that is pure metal. This is more up my alley as a lover of industrial and electronic music. There are only five, three-minute-long tracks on the CD, but I've included the MP3 released for free back in the day by one of the band members called Tongues, which is a must-hear and may be the only example of Charismatic-Pentecostal praise in all of industrial-electronic music.

This is an ITFA. Not available anywhere else.

Mortal Wish – Wish Fifteen

Before they were Mortal, they were... Depeche Mode?

So ends ITFA...for now...

Keep the music of the past alive.

Responding to the Mortal Wish offering...

Wow, to be honest, I thought I'd heard this but I guess I never got around to it. Thank you very much for posting it. I'm embarrassed to admit how long it took me to get the flac files converted over to something that itunes/iphone both agreed was playable. What an amazing departure Mortal was from this first offering, which makes sense since it was four years later that Lusis was released. I think the DM comparison is fairly spot on. Thanks!!
