Bug Reports

Hi Carson,

I\'ve encountered a few quirks and bugs here and there. So I thought that I\'d start a thread. And hopefully, we can focus all the reports to this one area of discussion.

Most of the issues I encountered were with the \"Links\" section.

Quirks & Thoughts:

- tried creating one for Bridgeshadows but was told the system could not create because one already existed. (I take it these were imported for prior database or the wiki). Can these be edited? I also feel there needs to be a bit more \"description\" regarding the various areas of \"Adding a Link\" and what it means. There were two large text editing areas but I wasn\'t sure what differentiated their purposes.

- viewed the list, there are two entries for Bridgeshadows. One is a dead link. How does one edit.

- there also was a pop-up for each link with a preview thumbnail of the website (nifty) except as soon as I moved away from the link it went poof. How does one rate, or interact with said pop up?

- There is no obvious area to browse users. Yet, there is page content that insinuates a \"connection/friending\" system.

Just a few little weird quirks.

Overall, I think it\'s a nice change. Still not quite used to it. And I think once all the quirks are ironed out that it will be mighty fine.

System
Operating System: Wintel
Browser: Firefox 1.5x

Please, anyone who posts other alerts provide your system info for Carson\'s benefit.

Re:Bug Reports
I haven\'t hit any snags...

But maybe we should start a wish list...

I make sites on the side and I know how crazy that can be...but I think I\'m going to start a wish list thread...

Re:Bug Reports
We\'re still working out the bugs on the links thing. Lots of work to do there to clean things up and make it easy for people to get things done. In the meantime, if you need something changed, e-mail it to links@flamingfish.com.

As for the browse users thing, when you log in you should see a user menu at the top right (under the banner). One of the menu items in there is \"View Member List\". Click it to see everyone else and to connect to them, send PMs, etc.

Re:Bug Reports
Ah - I\'ve seen that before. Where you\'re seeing the menu is in the completely wrong place, which is causing the other errors. I haven\'t figured out why it\'s doing it sometimes, though, but I suspect it only happens with really old versions of Firefox. I recommend upgrading to 1.5.x in order for it to work properly.
